In what seems to be a growing trend, a Texas based firm, which had ties to Madoff, has just been accused of $8 billion fraud by the SEC.  The Stanford Financial Group and its affiliated firms have a laundry list of problems.  For one, one of Stanford's biggest firms wasn't even registered as an investment firm. 

I understand the whole money is power routine, but it only works for enormous stars like Leonardo DiCaprio.  Catch Me if You Can is swell pic, but this isn't the 20th century anymore.  We have No-Drip Ketchup bottles and Five Guys now.

Ok I may be a little late on this, but whatevs.  Earlier this month the GOP members of the House of Representatives took a lavish vacation to Homestead Resort in Va.  They did it to discuss the stimulus package.  

I get it.  I understand the stimulus plan is backbreaking and difficult to think through so I'd want to take a trip to a resort and play golf in the hot tub.  No.  Taking a luxurious trip to discuss what they believe to be a luxurious plan doesn't make sense.  Hey, you're caught with your pants down.
