So you've started a company and don't know where to start.  You have a product or a concept to offer people but don't know how to market it.  In order to make a splash you have to do the unpopular thing sometimes.  You may look like a fool in the beginning.  Who cares?  Make it a game all about your brand.  Losing shouldn't even be considered.  Some of you may have your finances on the line and some are starting a new venture for fun.  Good for you.  It's not for everyone.

What's the first step toward marketing?  Go where others aren't.  Do what others don't.  Be unique.  You won't start off with a splash, but you'll see that a ripple is all it takes.  Learn something from this video in its entirety.

So I had the pleasure of attending AT&T's latest social media survey course.  The title of this series was "Developing Your media Strategy: From Text to Twitter."  It was held in conjunction with George Washington University's Institute for Politics, Democracy, and the Internet.  It was nice to attend, but I didn't learn anything new. It was for straight novices apparently.  But I did learn that Tweeting can be dangerous.

Additionally, here are 3 tips for your small business:

3. Don't sweat the small stuff.  It takes time to build a following, so don't worry.

2. Check out what others are doing in your field by going to Twitterel.  You'll also be able to  pitch your business to them.

1. Stay determined, committed, and easy-going.  You're not going to get very far by being a jerk.  Steadily build relationships and remain cordial.  You never know when you're going to need someone's expertise.   Try getting your team together on CollectiveX to stay organized.

Look Out for Google Scams PDF Print E-mail

I've recently unearthed a bank of knowledge about trendy "get rich fast" scams on the internet.  Everyone knows (at least you should know) about Google AdSense and AdWords.  A lot of people find the funnels very useful, either for driving traffic to their site or for advertising their product.  However, beware of faulty gimmicks.

Many people find the allure of working from home and making money very ideal, but it isn't as easy as others make it out to be.  Yes, you can make residual income.  And yet, you need to do your OWN research.  Below is a great review about a Google scam.  Easy Google Profits screams that one can make up to a grand a month all from doing nothing, except buying their Google kit of course.  Even I was one click away from taking it out for a test drive, until I  wised up.  Check out this phony article praising the kit and read the very top-center of the page.  Call me WB cause I warn a brotha.

Easy Google Profits is a scam and a half! If you tried them and you called and cancelled be sure to cancel the two products you unlocked. If you dont cancel those two they will charge you once their free trail is over even though you cancelled with googletreasurechest or blazingkeywords whichever one it was when you signed up...

Search Engine Optimization is slowly becoming Social Media Optimization.  You can draw visitors to your site by yourself now without the expensive You've got the keys to drive traffic.programmers.  It's easy and totally free.

3.   Bookmarking Sites.  A few clicks a day and your site will be at the mercy of the entire web.  Simply set up accounts for bookmarking sites and then enter your homepage and latest posts often.  I strongly recommend del.icio.us, digg, and StumbleUpon

2.  Creativity is key.  Keep your titles creative.  Once you've catapulted your site(s) into bookmarking space they will be picked up by tags.  People strongly believe in tagging hardcore.  I'm not talking about spraypaint.  When you hot the button in your toolbar to bookmark a site there will be options for tags.  Plaster it with key terms that relate to your article.
