May 27, 2009, talkhousemag.com Seriously, hardcore Manny Ramirez fans are coming together to make sure he is voted to this year's All-Star team. If you haven't heard, Manny is currently serving a 50 game suspension for testing positive for some kind of substance. Anyhoo, check it out and be a part of the revolution. Enrage MLB commissioner, Bud Selig, by sticking it to the man. Booya. |

April 15, 2009, talkhousemag.com This may be the only reason, besides Mark Sanchez, why I will finally become a Skins fan this year. Here is a preview of the Redskins' Chris Cooley's new show that will premiere on the web. {youtubejw}RsWq3lNGqZs{/youtubejw} |

February 19, 2009 talkhousemag.com The Washington Capitals Ovechkin scored another amazing goal last night. He is unbelievable. Watching him play is like waking up in Vegas at the Spearmint Rhino with Russian Playmates making you pancakes sans strawberries. {youtubejw}D_OaHMY2hQU{/youtubejw} |

February 16, 2009 talkhousemag.com If you want to know what it's like to be the most valued player on your team, and yet the most overlooked guy in the league, then you'll want to read Michael Lewis' article about Shane Battier. Battier, who is often first to critique is own performance, is the guy every franchise wants, but only a few can achieve with. If that sentence didn't confuse you enough, here's another try. When Kobe Bryant drops 30 on him, he feels great because he's done his job. It's a complicated matter, but Battier - unlike premiere all-stars- does what is expected of him day-in and day-out. It's the little things that make up his repertoire. Making a player go to his weak hand, forcing a player to take a 30 footer, and blocking out the other teams' best player for a rebound are what make him great. His shy demeanor and handsome looks make him the poster child of the NBA. But that's not |

February 12, 2009 talkhousemag.com I know that the majority of y'all haven't even seen the word "lacrosse" before, and you may never after today. However, I happen to love lacrosse and played in it college. This week it was announced that lacrosse, the fastest growing game in America and America's first sport, has taken a few steps back. It is definitely known that the Philly Barrage have already folded due to not finding new ownership. Other teams that may fold are New Jersey, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. For the most part, teams have felt the economic turmoil, but then again, the teams fold because they are run by enthusiasts. These enthusiasts get too all caught up in the hoopla of owning their own team. They are so blinded by their own vanity that they don't look at the ownership as an investment. That is also due to the fact that teams can't turn a profit at all. Don't get me wrong, some franchises do bring in fans and then there are the ones with empty stadiums. Empty stadiums arise due to poor planning. The league is played during the summer on weekends. Families travel to beaches mostly and don't think twice about the MLL. A good way to draw more fans would be to re-prioritize the locations. Anyways, I'm sure I've bored you enough. Follow the madness here or here. |
