Michael Jackson’s music transcends all musical genres and trends. He was the face of music for so long, and yet, he may be more popular than ever posthumously.

His sudden death left millions wondering what could have happened. Better yet, many wondered what happened to his brilliant career. MJ popped out hit-after-hit for decades. He changed the game for all of the artists who followed. He radically impacted the way that all music videos were to be made...
Nevertheless, a king fell. The King of Pop went through a number of legal problems over the years and died an estimated $400 million in debt. Sadly, it seemed as of lately that his life would become defined by his questionable acts. Not true.
His death sparked a reemergence of how big he actually was to the world. Take a look:
-CNN, LA Times, TMZ, and Twitter are just of few of the sites that crashed after his death due to so much traffic.
-He held 8 of the top 10 spots on iTunes most downloaded tracks over the weekend.
-The top 15 selling CDs on Amazon right now are all MJ. Plus, sixty percent of all its CDs sold this weekend were MJ’s. And the speedy Amazon.com is now saying that all deliveries may take up to two weeks.
-Barnes & Noble sold out
-News of his death set text messaging records for AT&T. The network said that the activity was sixty percent above average and reached nearly 65,000 texts per second.
When it’s all said and done, one can truly say that MJ was an iconic figure. Word-for-word, tap-for-tap, he symbolized the perfection that so many black children dreamed of reaching. He was a champion for all black people, and helped ease the transition from the CRM on past Berlin, the crack wars, the riots, and through the Bush years, to where we are today. It’s a not a perfect world yet, but we’re better off today than yesterday.
